Powder coating is a type of pro­tec­tive and dec­o­ra­tive coating that is applied elec­tro­sta­t­i­cal­ly as a dry powder and then cured in an oven. The curing process heats the dry powder allowing it to flow and form a tough, solid film. The key dif­fer­ence between powder and liquid coatings is that powder does not require a solvent and is VOC free, therefore making it a less hazardous coating.

En­vi­ron­men­tal Safety

Powder coating exhibits many en­vi­ron­men­tal ad­van­tages. Powder coatings are VOC free and produce virtually no waste as any reclaim generated during the ap­pli­ca­tion process can be captured and recycled with nearly 100% use of the coating. Because the powder is free of toxic chemicals and solvents, it’s regarded as safe for usage and disposal. The processes release no harmful chemicals into the air.

Ef­fi­cien­cy

Because of the elec­tro­mag­net­ic energy used to apply the powder to parts, there’s almost no waste in the powder coating process. Our ex­pe­ri­enced team will apply as much (or as little) powder as necessary in one ap­pli­ca­tion. Rather than allowing the parts to dry between coats, every­thing is done at once, which saves money and time.

Quality

The powder coating ap­pli­ca­tion and drying processes create a finish not found in any other paint product. Because the powder melts and reforms as a solid, it creates a smooth surface without drips or runs.
