Wilson & Gilkes Manufactures Over 1600 Storage Units For New Woodside Perth Headquarters

Woodside’s new headquarters in Perth is a 32-story building on Mount Street completed by global construction company Multiplex. Comprising over 60,000sqm of net lettable area, the campus-style complex sets a new standard for office facilities in Perth. It includes a 400-seat auditorium, extensive end of trip and wellness facilities for employees, open floor plans wholly connected by inter-floor stairs, and a four-story office and future gallery on Mounts Bay Road.

“We were delighted to partner with Woodside and create an environment that prioritises the needs of employees, from connected technology, flexible meeting spaces and extensive wellness facilities,” said Chris Palandri, Regional Managing Director of Multiplex WA. “The fit-out provides an optimal workplace that enables employees to thrive and has set a new standard for office facilities in Australia.”

Between the base build and fit-out, close to 4000 people working over two million man-hours have helped bring the precinct to life.

OFFICE STORAGE

Wilson & Gilkes’ Bosco brand was selected ahead of Italian and Asian manufacturers to design, manufacture and supply more than 1600 storage units for the new Woodside Headquarters.

Storage units in the Woodside fit-out are truly unique designs. A design feature of the entire Woodside project is curved surfaces and as a result, every storage unit incorporates curves. This presented significant manufacturing challenges for the Bosco project team. The successful outcome of the team’s collaborative efforts was production of significant quantities of physically large curved units within a tight schedule, to a very high quality standard.

Commencing in November 2017 Bosco storage units were shipped to Perth in a total of fifteen 20ft containers. The final consignment departed on time from Wilson & Gilkes on 9th February 2018. Every unit of more than 1600 items was quality inspected prior to despatch and no rejects have been identified at the Perth site.
