We all understand the benefits of recycling. It can reduce pressure on natural resources, divert material from landfill and help lower greenhouse gas emissions. However, recycling does not always deliver the outcome people assume it does.
When the energy use, processing requirements and material losses are examined closely, some recycling processes can be inefficient.
